Perfect your Gencraft creations with Magic Edit! Select an existing generation, or upload a brand new image, and tweak it exactly how you want. Get the ideal result you’re looking for, effortlessly.
Instead of starting over entirely, Magic Edit allows you to regenerate specific segments of a creation with a new prompt.
Step 1: Choose a photo to edit
To begin, you can either choose one of your previous creations or upload a new image.
If you choose to start with an uploaded image, click “Add your photo” below the prompt box and then choose “Magic Edit” after you’ve selected your picture. You do not need to enter a prompt in the box before uploading your image.
To Magic Edit one an image you’ve already generated, select it from your creation history on the right side of the Generate page. The Magic Edit button is directly below the image, to the left of the download button.
Step 2: Draw a mask
Now you’ll need to create a mask that indicates the part of the image you want to generate. Once selected, your prompt will only apply to this part of the image — the rest of the image will not be altered.
To create your mask, you can draw over a section of the image yourself using either the box or pencil tool. After you are finished, that part of the image will be highlighted in blue. If you wish to start over, there is a reset button at the top left of the image.
If you’d rather not draw the mask yourself, you can hit the Auto-Segment button. This will divide the image into sections for you. You can then select any number of sections as your mask.
Example: Insert an object
Let’s say we’re mostly happy with an image, but we want to change just one aspect of it. For example, we have this mouthwatering image of a stack of pancakes. But we just can’t help thinking it would look better with some strawberries on top in addition to the bananas.
This is a perfect application of the Magic Edit tool. To start, we’ll upload the pancake image. Then we’ll draw our mask around the area we want to change (in this case, the top of the pancake stack). Finally, we’ll type in our prompt: “Strawberries on pancakes.”
Just like that, we have our final image! You can even view the difference between your original and edited image by hovering over your image and dragging the vertical bar that appears.
Example: Replace an object
Another great use of Magic Edit is to replace objects already in the photo with something else entirely. In the below example, we take a woman holding a laptop and replace that laptop with a bouquet of roses.
Example: Remove an object
Magic Edit can also remove unwanted objects from an image entirely. Take this photo for example. We’ll remove one person from it using the prompt “Remove the person.” You can take advantage of our negative prompt feature here as well, though it isn’t necessary.
The final result perfectly fills their place with the striped sidewalk, leaving the rest of the image unchanged. If you want to view any edits you’ve made, you can view and edit them below where your final image is displayed.
